This project was more than strictly an identity. I walked the blocks of downtown Nashville with a medium format camera. Once this film was processed and scanned, I edited and printed select shots as large-format prints (printed at 28”, framed at 36” square). 6 photos were chosen, one for each bedroom. I also took make-ready postcards from Hatch Show Prints in town and made macro photos of these, using pieces of that rich texture in large format prints as well. In total, 12 pieces of art were created to go with the interior design of these 2 units, and a wordmark and identity were created as support. I then transferred this aesthetic to a simple and clean website to direct potential renters to the online booking site.

neon sign concept

I worked up this idea for neon signage outside of the 2 units, harkening to the vacancy/no vacancy signage of historic motels and with a nod to the neon just blocks away on Broadway. Fingers crossed this happens, ‘cause wouldn’t that be cool?
